Blue River Apartments  

Blue River Apartments is a 60-unit apartment community in Columbia City, Indiana. Originally built in 1971, Blue River Apartments (Walter and Thompson Building) is available to residents at least 62 years of age or disabled (with no age restrictions). The Waterfall building takes qualified applicants that are 63 years of age or older and have very low income.

Amenities:
Residents at Blue River Apartments have their gas, heat, electric, water, sewage, and trash provided for them as part of their rent. Our community also offers residents a convenient on-site laundry facility and a Community Room, which is available for events for the Blue River community and for private events.

Aging and In Home Services comes to Blue River Apartments to provide lunch, Tuesday and Fridays, at 11:30am in the Community Room. In December, Blue River Apartments hosts a Community dinner that is catered in for all residents to enjoy.

Additionally, the local library provides the Walter building community room with a revolving library.  Books are changed out once a month with fresh ones.

The Whitley County Council on Aging provides transportation to local establishment from Blue River for a donation.  We are a small town, but have Walmart, Kroger, Walgreens, CVS, and Aldi’s for local conveniences.

Rental Requirements:
Applicants to Blue River Apartments are asked to complete an application packet. Our application packet includes the rental application, credit consent, police check, consent to release form, sex offender check, previous 3 years of landlord history verification and any other items that may pertain to the applicant. Our applicants need to meet the income guidelines and rental criteria established for Blue River Apartments. Rental Rates:
Please contact our rental office for the annual income limits specific to the Blue River community. Rent is based on 30% of resident's monthly adjusted income.

Bedrooms & Floorplans:
