Description:
Camp Madron is a 49-unit Owner-owned homeowners association located in a pristine 216-acre former Boy Scout Camp west of Buchanan, Michigan. The extensive property includes a lake, beach, orchard, forests (both pine and old-growth deciduous), stream, Lodge, gazebo and walking trails.

Amenities:
Amenities include the original 1931 campers' Lodge available for Owners' enjoyment, a sports recreation area that includes a baseball/softball diamond for family activities, an apple orchard with space available for the community garden, a small lake with a sandy beach and a swim raft, tennis and basketball courts and walking trails that lead through deep forest, across streams and through a prairie. The Lodge includes two large stone fireplaces, a spacious main room, inviting reading room with a view of the lake, children's activities room including a ping-pong table, an adjoining full kitchen and two small meeting rooms. Just down the hill from the Lodge and towards the lake, picnic areas are available and include grills. A lovely gazebo and Adirondack chairs sit next to Madron Lake and the beach for Owners to relax and enjoy the summer evenings.

Activities throughout the year are abundant. During the summer months, families swim a the beach and have picnics near-by, hike the trails and discover a variety of ecosystems, gardening in the community garden and canoe or kayak on Madron Lake. In the fall, the annual Harvest Fest is held. Most of the Owners at Camp Madron attend Harvest Fest and enjoy the spirited atmosphere while dining on spit-roasted turkey and pork and the variety of dishes brought by others. Horse-drawn hayrides are offered, a band plays throughout the evening and a bonfire is lit for roasting marshmallows and making smores. During the winter months, many Owners at Camp will cross-country ski on the extensive trail system. New Year's Eve brings Owners together again to enjoy the fireside chats, outdoor bonfire and a dessert collection, provided by the Owners. New Year's Day brings folks to the Beach to partake (or simply watch) the Annual Polar Bear Swim - an icy dip to ring in the new year!

Monthly dues include the availability of the Camp Caretaker, plowing in winter, house monitoring, trash removal service and maintenance of the Camp's common areas, among others.

Camp Madron is a peaceful community, distant from the sounds of city life. Necessities can be found in Buchanan or, for more eclectic and artistic shopping, southwestern Michigan's Harbor Country is just minutes away.
