Brad Toothaker earned the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), a member institute of the National Association of Realtors (NAR). Brad has been with REMC since 1996 and has served as Chief Executive Officer since 2003. Brad is a graduate of University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) where he earned a bachelor of science degree in history and business administration. Brad served as president for the Michiana area BOMA chapter in 1998, 1999 and 2000 and President for the Indiana Commercial Board of Realtors in 2004; and was recently appointed to the executive committee for the State of Indiana Chapter of the National Brownfield Association. He is a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and is a licensed real estate broker in the states of Michigan and Indiana. Brad has served as president of the Madison Center Foundation from 2002 through 2004, served on the executive committee for the Broadway Theater League Board, as a volunteer for South Bend Symphony and the United Way, and has done consultation for the Transpo Board, the Airport Authority Board and the YMCA. Through previous experience in property management, Brad has gained an insightful and broad based view of commercial real estate dynamics and an overall picture of the services clients need.
Dan Skodras - Managing Director, Client Consulting
Dan joined CB Richard Ellis South Bend and Real Estate Management Corporation in 2003. Prior to joining CBRE and REMC, Dan was a partner at Crowe Chizek and worked there for 25 years. Dan is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor of science degree in accounting, and is also a licensed CPA and a licensed real estate broker in Indiana. As managing director, Dan is responsible for overseeing management of both companies, providing leadership and cultivating client relationships. Dan works closely with existing accounts as well as new accounts to identify and develop services opportunities. Dan is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Indiana CPA Society. He is a past president and board member of the Michiana YMCA and of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Dan currently serves as a trustee for the Michiana YMCA, sits on the Finance Committee of the Northern Indiana Center for History, and chairs the Public Relations Committee for the Downtown South Bend Rotary Club. Dan also serves as managing director for the South Bend partner office of CB Richard Ellis, REMC's sister company.
Kara K. McGuire is the Vice President of Operations for REMC. She joined the company in May of 1997. She has her bachelor's degree from Ferris State University, where she majored in business. Kara holds an Indiana Real Estate salesperson license. As Vice President of Operations, Kara is in charge of quality control of company processes and works on many special projects, including property refinances and grant writing. Kara serves as a contact for both ownership and HUD for properties that are in the development stage. Kara is also responsible for overseeing all human resources and information technology within the organization, and plays an integral role in the operations and management of the company. Kara also serves as Vice President of Operations of CB Richard Ellis South Bend, REMC's sister company.
As Controller, Finance and Asset Management, Jamie manages all aspects of our commercial, industrial and retail properties, including operations and financial activities, for a portfolio that includes multiple commercial and industrial buildings totaling over 1.8 million square feet. Jamie supervises the planning, budgeting and control of operating the properties, along with performing regular inspections of the properties as well as recommending and directing alterations, maintenance and reconditioning of the properties as necessary. Jamie has more than six years of experience in property management.
In this role, she is responsible for financial operations ranging from financial reports to budgeting and forecasting. Furthermore, Jamie also plays a role within the commercial property management division of the CB Richard Ellis South Bend Partner office, along with its sister company, Real Estate Management Corporation, on an asset management level, maintaining certain key client relationships and general supervision of financial and broad operating matters related to the properties. Jamie also oversees the property accounting department.
Brian Harding - Director of Property Services
Brian Harding joined our team as the Director of Property Services for Real Estate Management Corporation in 2006 where his role is to oversee the operations of the REMC portfolio, personnel, client management, and more. Brian came to us from Madison Center and Hospital, where he worked for over 17 years ranging from Director of Admissions and Emergency Services, Regional Director and Director of Child and Adolescent Inpatient Services. Brian received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Psychology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs and Health Care Administration from Indiana University in South Bend. He is a Chamber Leadership Program graduate who volunteers his time at many local organizations including Saint Anthony’s Parish, East Side Little League, CONNECT, South Bend Symphony, Hannah’s House, United Way and most significantly the Northern Indiana Center for History where he has served ten years as a Trustee and five terms as President of the Board. Brian has earned the Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) designation from the National Center for Housing Management and is a candidate for the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).
Rodney J. Ludwig - Director of Finance and Compliance
Rodney J. Ludwig, COS, CFM, serves as REMC’s Director of Finance and Compliance, and is responsible for the financial management and compliance component of the residential portfolio of managed properties. In conjunction with Brian, Rod is the primary contact for the management of all REMC managed properties. Rod graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, having worked over six years for the Internal Revenue Service, and an additional three years in public accounting, specializing in taxation. Rod is a great asset to the budgeting and reporting process for the residential properties managed by the company. Rod is also an Indiana real estate licensee, and has obtained both the Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) and Certified Financial Manager (CFM) designations from the National Center for Housing Management. Rod is a candidate for the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).
Michele Vanlue serves the company as Senior Property Manager with a specialization in compliance for HUD and rural development managed properties. She joined the company in January 2001 as a site manager. Michele is a graduate of Indiana University where she received a business associate degree. She holds her Indiana Salesperson Real Estate License and has earned the COS (Certified Occupancy Specialist) designation from the National Center for Housing Management and STAR (Spectrum Training Award Recipient) designation for Rural Development 515 Regulations & Multi-family Housing Management Principles. She is an Indiana Notary Public and is CPR and First Aid Certified. She has also earned the Accredited Residential Management (ARM) designation through the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). Michele is responsible for insuring that each of the properties that we manage remains in compliance with the various HUD and Rural Development standards. She also helps develop and manage the related company standards which we established for the REMC properties, as well as performs various special projects. Michele spends significant time in the field working with our site managers and other property management staff to manage our compliance efforts and support other aspects of site management operations.
Jodi Gonce serves as regional property manager for REMC. Jodi attended IUSB for two years and Saint Joseph College for two years, where she majored in sociology and minored in criminal justice. She is a licensed Real Estate Salesperson in the state of Indiana. She holds the Spectrum Training Award Recipient (STAR) designation for Rural Development and 515 Regulations and Multi-Family Housing Management Principles. She has earned the Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) designation from the National Center for Housing Management and the Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) designation through the Institude of Real Estate Management (IREM). Jodi is directly responsible for our operations throughout the Garden Court portfolio including oversight of the site management staff, and personally carries on certain site management duties. She also helps oversee aspects of property management at certain other client properties as well as being involved in special projects related to property management in REMC.
